Lace and Pearls

Happy Monday, Stamping Friends!
Today's post brings with it a gorgeous color and sketch challenge in one.  I stumbled upon this blog from down under called still addinktive and I wanted to play along.  Well, I stared at this sketch and color palette for a really long time  and I realized that I either needed to just start playing with colors and shapes or just move on to something different.  Therein lies the lesson I learned...just start.  It doesn't have to be perfect to be pleasing and shared.  Just remember, if you never start, you can never share.
happy starting!

Up In The Air Without You

Hello Stamping Friends!
Today's card is for my sister who lives in Idaho.  That's just too far from Oklahoma, in my opinion, so I thought I'd let her know how I was feeling today.  We've both been very busy lately and just haven't had lots of phone time together as we normally do.  I miss you, Deb!

To create today's card I chose to combine 3 different challenges.  Create With Connie and Mary for the color palette,  Addicted to CAS for the theme,  and Freshly made Sketches for the actual card sketch.  I'm very happy with my end result because it really does transport me to the lake where all the people fly their kites in the spring and summer and it also reminded me of one of my favorite movies:  "UP"  with all the colorful balloons.  I hope you enjoy it and gain some inspiration from all the great challenges out there in cyberspace this weekend!
happy stamping,

She Believed...

Two cards in one night, you ask?  Yes!  The physical inspiration for this card comes from this sketch at  Create With Connie And Mary.  The emotional inspiration has come from two of my good friends, Ellen and Glynis.  (Check out their inspirational and artistic blogs) They have believed in me in so many ways, for so many years; starting this blog and creating my own cards was just two of them.  So, this card is for them.  Thank you for believing I could do this.
You even made a believer out of me.
Love you both!

 Here is their sketch:

Stampin' Supplies:

Stamps:  Feel Goods
Ink:  Cajun Craze, Soft Suede
Cardstock:  Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit, Very Vanilla, Comfort Cafe dsp
Accessories:  Bigz Square Scallop Die
Pretties:  Designer Naturals Buttons
(I used a very narrow strip of midnight muse cardstock for the button holes.  Originally learned this from Mary Fish)

Baby Girls and Polka Dots!

Happy Tuesday, Everyone!
Seems that every time I turn around I see another young woman getting ready to have a baby, and it just so happens that quite a few of those ladies are friends of mine!  So, here again is a baby girl card for your inspiration today.  I used this sketch from Retro Sketches
and this color challenge from The Paper Players
I had a great time creating this card this evening.  It was just what I needed.
Enjoy!

Take a peek.  :)

The two that I combined are this sketch from Sketch Frenzy Friday:
