Friend Friday

Hello Again, Stamping Friends!

I have a card to share with you today made by my dear friend and stamping buddy, Maggie.  She's rather new in the cardmaking/rubber stamping craft, but she's no newbie to art.
She has an eye for clean, crisp design and color and I think this card shows her emerging paper crafting talent perfectly!
I know you'll enjoy her designs as well.  ;)

Welcome, Maggie!

Maggie's Supplies:
Summer Silhouettes (126447)
From My Heart (126557)
Typeset DSP (133704)
Retired Summer Starfruit ribbon, ink and card stock
Various Inks, Very Vanilla and Brown card stock

Newborn King in Green and Blue

Good Thursday, Stampers!
I'm posting my card today based two different challenges....an old color challenge over at  Color Throwdown

and the current sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.
As you know, I really enjoy playing along with challenge blogs.  It's been such a great help to me because I'm not naturally gifted in design, color or composition.  I've needed practice and these challenges have really helped in getting my creative juices flowing, and have given me a place to start.  If you're like me, you might find this will help you, too.  :-)

My card:

I like the Lucky Stars embossing folder and thought it would be a simple background for the nativity scene in The Newborn King stamp set.  (I love this set!) I embossed the star with silver embossing powder to add a little zip, but still keeping the card clean and simple.  In the same way, I added the silver background circle because I liked the illusion of a halo. The rhinestones in the sky add a little sparkle and light for a special birth!  :-)
I hope you enjoyed today's card.  Have a great day and try to get some creative time this weekend and maybe even play along with a challenge blog!
Be blessed,
barb

Cheerful Christmas

Hello Stamping Friends!
I'm coming clean to all of you....
I have Christmas on my brain!  LOL There are so many pretties to play with that I can't seem to stop.
 Forgive me?   ;-)
I promise that I'll post some non-Christmas soon.

 My Card:
But, for today, I have a card for you inspired by the sketch challenge over at Creative Challenge Club.

I'm also still in the sort of non-traditional color scheme too.  The stamp set I used is called Cheerful Christmas and the designer paper is from Trim The Tree paper stack.  I use a coordinating piece of dsp and used the Envelope Liner Dies to crop an envelope liner to complete the look.

Don't forget, this one is also very conducive to mailing as well.
How many Christmas cards do you mail out each year?
Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!

Sparkle Christmas!

Hello Stamping Friends,
I have a quick post with a new card for you today based on three different challenges.  Yes, I combined 3 into one card.  ;)  I played along with The Paper Players and with the Merry Monday weekly Christmas card challenge.  I also followed the Paper Pal Arts sketch challenge as well.

My card:

Silver or Gold:

I decided on pink, black and silver for my color combo, used the Beautifully Baroque embossing folder, and the Bright and Beautiful stamp set cropped with the Stars framelits.

A little sparkly detail:

Non-Traditional colors:

Hope you enjoyed my card today and that you gained a little inspiration for your Christmas cards!
