Barb Hendrickson - Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Tuesday, March 3, 2020

Hello Stamping Friends,

Here today with a card that I created for a family member who lost someone close.  It's never fun or easy to create these cards, but so important to send them to those who need comfort.

I created this card with the sepia watercoloring technique from Gail Ellis here:

I think the bleach that I used to color the magnolias was a bit old, and I read that you should use new bleach when trying this technique.  Thus, my flowers have a bit of lavender coloration.

I hope this card will inspire you to try this technique and use whatever SU supplies you have on hand!

Have a blessed day and happy stampin!

God's Peace For PP459

Hello Stamping Friends,

I'm back!  I've been going through some physical challenges so blogging has been put on the back burner.  I'm sorry it's been so hit or miss.  But, I hope you enjoy today's card!

Thanks to this week's challenge over at The Paper Player's blog, my creative holiday season off and running with metallics!

I love this new stamp set called God's Peace. I think it’s my favorite in the 2019 SU Holiday catalog!

My card was inspired by fellow stamper Cindy Brumbaugh. This was her sketch and I CASED it using metallics. Feels Like Frost designer paper, silver embossing powder, and Wink of Stella,  all which give this card a shine and gleam.

Happy Stampin'

Monday's One Stop, Blog Hop!

Hello Stamping Friends,

Today's the day for our hop around the internet to find delightful creations and inspiration
using gorgeous, coordinating Stampin' Up! products!

I absolutely love it when I see something that a fellow SU fan has created and shared with the world, don't you?

So, let's move on to my favorite project picks for this week.  I hope it spurs you on to create in your craft space too!

As always, if you do not already have a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator that you are working with, I'd love to help you and become your demonstrator.  ;-)

Blessings and Happy Stampin',

Good Things For Freshly Made Sketches 394

Hello Stamping Friends,

Today's card was greatly inspired by this week's sketch challenge at  Freshly Made Sketches.  I was also inspired by the color combination and card of talented fellow demonstrator LeAnne Pugliese.  You can see her lovely card here on her blog, WeeInklings.

Remember that when you go into your craft space to create a card, that you are a part of a community of folks who share what they love to do...we share our creativity with others, so don't be afraid to CASE (copy and share everything) a card, or gain inspiration from another crafter.
That being said, always give credit where credit is due and have a wonderful time! :-)

I hope you enjoy today's card and take some time to get creative this week and upcoming weekend!

Blessings,
barb

Happy Birthday, You Sweet Thing SUOC 226

Hello Stamping Friends,

I'm back today with a theme challenge from the fine folks over at Stampin' Up! Only Challenges, and their theme for these two weeks is birthdays!

What I love about this theme is that, we all make and send birthday cards to our loved ones...we always need birthday cards, right?  So, why don't you let this challenge spur you on to make a birthday card and post it to the SUO blog?  It's simple to do.  ;-)

So, I had a piece of the new Bird Ballad designer series papers laying around along with this sentiment that I hadn't used yet, so I came up with this little ditty!  I love how it turned out!  I hope you enjoy it too, and even take my sketch idea and use it on your next card.  (Remember to use up your scraps on the insides of your cards, too!  It's so fun to see that pop of color or coordinating design when you open the card!)

I hope you have time to spend in your craft space this week and take time to build your creative confidence along with me!

Blessings,
barb

Isn't it amazing what a tiny bit of detail does for a card, especially when you have such a busy dsp design like this one.  It doesn't take much to really finish it perfectly!

Welcome Back To My Blog...Again.

Hello Stamping Friends,

It's been almost a year since I've posted cards for you, and I thought I might just come back and try to stay a bit more consistent since life has presented me some time.  (I've been raising two beautiful kittens for the past year!)  I have enjoyed the challenge of blogging in the past, and since Stampin' Up! has given us such a gorgeous new annual catalog, I thought I would share some of my creations here again.  ;-)

So, to start off, I will offer one of my favorites for you today.

Enjoy and Happy Stampin'

My card:
I used the new Magnolia Lane designer series paper, Woven Heirlooms stamp set, Layering Ovals Dies, the gorgeous Delicate Lace Edges Dies, Memento Ink, Basic Black and Petal Pink card stock.

A Few Details:

The new Petal Pink organdy striped ribbon is one of the most lovely ribbons I've used.  It adds the perfect amount of textured elegance to a card!

If you love these products, and don't already purchase from a SU demo, you are welcome to purchase them in my online demo store, Barb's Online Demo Website

Monday's One Stop, Blog Hop: "Rooted In Nature"

Hello Stamping Friends,

I wanted to share one of my favorite new bundles in the 2018 Stampin' Up! annual catalog called, Rooted In Nature.  This stamp and die set is full of wonderful nature images and really fun sentiments.  Also part of this bundle is the Nature's Poem designer series paper which is full of lovely color!
I will be creating an original card with this set soon, but for now I wanted to share some beautiful creations from the web for Monday's One Stop, Blog Hop.  Please go and visit these creative bloggers to see more of their work, and...
Happy Stampin!
