I'm Thankful For...

YOU!
Hello Stamping Friends,
I must say, new stamps challenge me.  They take me out of my comfort zone and cause me to dig deeper into the creative parts of my brain and sometimes it can be difficult, right?  Like we all say at times:  "My muse has left me!"  Well, that was me yesterday.  I really wanted to use the stamp I'm Thankful For
for one of my October stamp camp cards, but I couldn't find any inspiration beyond the Stampin Up holiday catalog, so I felt kind of lost.  Then, I picked up the Color Me Autumn designer series paper and the creative juices began to flow.  I wanted a simple, colorful card with this stamped sentiment as the focal point, and I think I achieved my goal.  I'm very happy with the results, especially with the little extra touch of the Autumn Wood Elements.  Simple, quick, colorful, and....Thankful.

Happy Stamping!

Snowflake Card Thinlit Die Video

Hello Ladies!

Today I'd like to share with you a video posted by Stampin' Up! showing how to use the Snowflake Card Thinlit Die.  I love this die set and think it makes really stunning cards in a zip!  Run the die through your Big Shot
and watch the magic happen before your eyes!  We will be creating this very card at my upcoming October stamp camp.  Hope all of you attending will love it!

YouTube Stamping Tips and Tricks

Hi Stampers!

I think I'm going to start a
Thursday feature on my blog offering a weekly tip or trick video.  What do you think?  Would that help you?  There are SO many stampers far smarter and more clever than I, who have made very helpful videos and have posted them on YouTube.  I
like to be your clearing house for bringing you some of the best tips
and tricks from  generous paper crafters across the blogoshere.  Goodness knows how I have benefited from these talented folks.  Ok!  Time to share this first video from Connie Stewart.  She has a YouTube channel and a blog called Simply Simple Stamping.  She's an inspiration to many.

Here is Connie's Tip Video!

Masculine Open Seas Birthday

Hello Stamping Friends!
Just a really quick post today with this net sketch from Pals Paper Arts and The Paper Players.  I needed a CAS (Clean and Simple) masculine card paired with the Pals sketch!  Oh my....
But, I really like how my card turned out and using the Lost Lagoon cardstock, the Moonlight paper stack, and the Open Seas, Gorgeous Grunge, and Blue Ribbon stamp sets worked for me!  Hope you enjoy it!  I will post supplies here later today.

A Special Day for Liam: Blessed By God

Hello Stamping Friends,
Today is a special day and a special card was in order.  My niece just had her first baby back in April, and they called him Liam Christopher.  What a sweet little, (or not so little) baby he was  ;-)
and today he was baptized.  So, I found this simple, sweet sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches and I knew that I wanted to use it for Liam's card.  I'm happy with the fresh, clean results of this card.  It was just what I wanted to achieve.  I hope you enjoy it too.  Have a great upcoming week!

Happy Stamping,

Peace On Earth

Hello Stamping Friends!
Here today with a card inspired by the creative folks over at Merry Monday, which is an ongoing Christmas card challenge.  If you love Christmas cards as much as I do, then go take a peek at their blog and join in the fun!

Today's card uses another of my favorite stamps from the SU Holiday Catalog, called Nature's Peace.  I love this image and wanted to make it special, as it is the total focus of the card.  So, I embossed it with a combination of Iridescent Ice and Early Espresso embossing powders.  I'm not sure the pretty shimmer shows very well in my photos, but it's the perfect touch in real life!
I hope you enjoy this card and plan for some creative time this weekend.

Happy Stamping,

I also wanted to make the card special in and of itself, so I chose to make an easel card.  I used Under The Tree dsp for the card, and the envelope as well.  This design really puts the card on display for the recipient.  ;)

Right after I ink distressed the cardstock, I sprinkled Iridescent Ice over the still slightly wet edges, and what stuck, I heated.  It's a subtle, sparkly touch.
