Vintage Leaves For Try Stamping On Tuesday #231

Hello Stamping Friends!

Back today with a bold, colorful, fall card for the Try Stampin'-Or Not-On Tuesday sketch challenge, using a very old stamping technique called One Sheet Wonder.  Remember that one?

You take a sheet of neutral cardstock and your favorite stamp set and basically collage the card stock, then cut it into usable pieces for your project.  (You can often get 10-20 cards from one stamped sheet!)  Another version of this technique is to simply use a 12x12 sheet of designer paper.

Check out these samples:  The first one is mine with a retired stamp set:

This example is from Jan Farring using the current Beautiful Bunch stamp set:

Ok.  All that being said, and shown,  I have my One Sheet Wonder card for you today. I hope you will join in the fun and post your card on the TSOT blog or on the Facebook page.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Happy Stamping,
barb

"Happy Poppies" For TSOT #229

Hello Stamping Friends,

Today I'm here with my newest card for The Try Stampin'-Or Not-On Tuesday blog challenge.
I really loved this sketch from design team mate, Hillary, and find it offers endless possibilities.
There is also a flower theme this week and you can use the theme or not.  I chose to use it for my background.  Flowers and butterflies go hand in hand, don't you think?
I'd love to see you share your creations on the TSOT blog or on the Facebook page at:  Try Stampin' - Or Not- On Tuesday Challenges.

Happy Stamping!

Ok, now onto my creation for this sketch challenge:

My card:

The first designer paper that popped into my head for this sketch and theme challenge was Pretty Petals.  This paper is one of my favorite things in the new Idea Book this year.

You can't really tell in my photo, but the white background paper is from the new Color Me Irresistible Specialty DSP.  I chose the tree bark embossed design.  I like the subtle effects it offers in person.  I also love the effects of the new White Perfect Accents.  I think they're just the right touch on this card.

Details:
Then, of course there are the details.  They add so much to a card, don't they?  I really enjoyed how my little butterfly turned out.
I used the Watercolor Wings Bundle 3 step stamp set and the Butterflies Thinlits Dies to create the little fellow, using Tuxedo Black, Watermelon Wonder, and Calypso Coral inks.
And the double "hello" was created with both Color Me Irresistible DSP in white and the new In Color Envelope Paper in Watermelon Wonder using the Hello You Thinlit Dies, another of my favorite items in this catalog!

Guy Greetings: "You're My Anchor" for Try Stampin' On Tuesday

Hello Stampin Friends!

Here today to show you the latest sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday and my take on it.

I had purchased the Stampin' Up set Guy Greetings and the Adventure Bound designer series paper from the current Occasions Catalog and I immediately thought of this pairing for this sketch.

I love this anchor image and I love that I had a special person in mind for this card.  It will go to my husband on our 33rd anniversary.

I hope you hop over to the Try Stampin' blog and see the other designers offerings for this sketch and try it out yourself as well!

Happy Stamping,
barb

Just a little touch of dsp on the inside for a bit of a surprise.  :-)

And, to add a couple of small details I used White Signo Gel Pen and a
Neutral Candy Dot.  Perfect touch for a masculine card in my opinion.

I hope you enjoy!

Sheer Perfection Butterflies

Hello Stamping Friends,

Today is the day to share my design for the Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch challenge.  It was a great sketch and a true challenge for me.  If you have a few minutes this week, hop on over to the blog, try the sketch, then link up your creation.  We'd LOVE to have you join in the fun!

I could have gone in a million directions for this sketch, (and I tried about 500,000 of them)  but finally chose to use this brand new Sale-A-Bration Freebie called Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum.  Oh.  My.  Goodness.  It's simply lovely, and coordinated it with the Butterflies Thinlits Dies.

I will share my list of supplies at the end of this post....there is quite a list, but I'm happy I put a little extra time and effort into this card.  Hope you enjoy!!
Have a blessed week,
barb

As you can see, I used a second piece of this beautiful vellum to layer the large butterfly.  I love the added interest!

A touch of detail for you...
Using the Around Array stamp set and Basic Pearls

Buttons and ribbon make the world go around, don't you think?
Just love this Basic Gray (retired)and Blushing Bride combo so much.
