A Child Is Born...

Hello Stamping Friends,

Christmas card making has begun and I am here today to show you one of my favorite sets in the newly released Sept.-Dec. mini catalog.

This understated set is called A Child Is Born and while it is a simple line art stamp set, there is so much you can do with it.  You can emboss, color in with Stampin' Blends, stamp on designer series paper, or create a background with blending brushes and ink pads and stamp over your background.

For my cards I stamped and embossed over Beautiful Gallery DSP , the "B" sides.  I wanted to try and create a subtle background so the stamped image would shine.

I added a few rhinestones around the star and a simple sentiment from the stamp set on the front of the card.

I hope you enjoy!

I gently dragged the dsp panel over the ink to create a very thin border of color to set it apart from the background cs layer.

Products:  Secret Sea CS and ink, Gray Granite CS, Beautiful Gallery DSP

Basic Rhinestones

Products:  A Child Is Born, Pecan Pie CS and ink, Versamark ink, WOW gold embossing powder, Basic Rhinestones, Embossing Heat Tool

God's Peace For PP459

Hello Stamping Friends,

I'm back!  I've been going through some physical challenges so blogging has been put on the back burner.  I'm sorry it's been so hit or miss.  But, I hope you enjoy today's card!

Thanks to this week's challenge over at The Paper Player's blog, my creative holiday season off and running with metallics!

I love this new stamp set called God's Peace. I think it’s my favorite in the 2019 SU Holiday catalog!

My card was inspired by fellow stamper Cindy Brumbaugh. This was her sketch and I CASED it using metallics. Feels Like Frost designer paper, silver embossing powder, and Wink of Stella,  all which give this card a shine and gleam.

Happy Stampin'

Candy Canes and Cookies for CCMC#423

Hello Again, Stamping Friends!

Today's card was inspired by the new sketch challenge over at the Create With Connie and Mary Blog.
I immediately knew I wanted to use the new Cookie Cutter Christmas bundle for my card, and keep the design really simple to allow the new Cable Knit embossing folder to shine.
I also wanted this card to be easily mass produced and mailed.  ;-)

 I hope you enjoy!

Happy Stamping,

barb

Here is the sketch:

And my card:

The other fun new products I used were also part of the Candy Cane Lane suite of products,  and the new Cable Knit Dynamic Embossing Folder (It's incredible!!) The "Joy" sentiment is from the Holly Jolly Greetings

Christmas Wreath For Try Stampin' On Tuesday #249

Hello Stampin' Friends!

Back today with a new Christmas card for the sketch and theme challenge over at Try Stampin' On Tuesday.

Here is the sketch, and the theme is "the holidays."

I know this is such a busy time for most folks, but if you have just a few minutes to spare, make a holiday card and share it with us at the Try Stampin' On Tuesday challenge blog. You may also share it on our TSOT Facebook Page.

Happy Stampin and Happy Holidays!

My card:

I stamped the wreath from Wondrous Wreath on Shimmery White cardstock and die cut it with the coordinating die set, Wonderful Wreath Framelits.  I added some Lost Lagoon berries and bow.  The background is from the Season Of Cheer dsp.

A little detail:

The pearls were my "go to" bling on this soft wreath and the Soft Sky seam binding ribbon, which is now retired.

Non-Traditional Christmas for TSOT #247

Hello Stamping Friends!

Here today with the latest sketch, theme and color challenge over at Try Stampin-Or Not-On Tuesday, courtesy of designer, Kaylin.

The challenge is to highlight ornaments in non-traditional colors with this sketch, so I took this challenge full on!

(I had to dig in my paper stash to find this paper from a number of years ago!  Glad I held onto it.)

Happy Stamping,

barb

The sketch:

My Card:

I love how this card turned out.  It's really my stamping aesthetic.  Quick and easy!

A little detail:

A simple coordination of color panels that highlight the variety of colors in this Basic Grey paper, with the true meaning of Christmas elevated... Joy!

A little touch of linen thread for a natural accent is what I wanted for this distressed paper.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.  ;-)
