"Rain" For Try Stampin' On Tuesday Blog #223

Hello Stamping Friends,

I know it's been a while since my last post, but it's been a busy season around the Hendrickson place.   I've missed a couple of Sunday Blog Hops too, which I plan to remedy next week, AND Stampin' Up! released a new annual catalog!  It's excellent, by the way.  I will update all of my links so you can properly shop, if you so desire.  ;)

The Try Stampin' On Tuesday blog that I design for posted a theme challenge for the next 2 weeks and it's "rain."  (All future challenges will run for 2 weeks to allow for more participation.  Come join in the fun!)

I had only 1 current stamp set that even hinted of the rain theme and a couple of other ladies had already used it, so I went rummaging through my retired stash.  (5 large boxes of rubber stamp sets!  Can you say "SALE?")

Well, I chose this sweet stamp set called Lean On Me that I absolutely loved, but had never inked while it was current.  But, it fit my challenge perfectly so I used it.  Everything else on my card is in the new Stampin' Up! catalog.

Onto my card for today...

"It's Your Day" for TSOT #209

Hello again, Stamping Friends!

I'm back today to share a different card based on the Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch challenge.
Also, I want to put a call out to card makers that TSOT is looking for designers for the blog challenges.  If you'd like to submit cards for consideration, please go to the blog and follow the directions for submitting your cards!  It's so, so much fun!!
Have a happy Stampin' week!

Ok...on to my second card...
This large sentiment from the "Big On You" stamp set
is a perfect focal point for a celebration!   You can find it in the current SU Occasions catalog.

I used Birthday Bash, Gold Foil paper and Night of Navy, along with Oval Framelits.  A little Night of Navy seam binding ribbon and a gold button finishes the card.

Here is the sketch for this week:

Coffee and Friends for Try Stamping On Tuesday #193

Hello Stamping Friends!
Well, my first design team card for Try Stamping On Tuesday is finally here!  Whoo Hoo!  The sketch this week has lots of visual interest and can be interpreted in different ways, so I challenge you to try it this week and see what you come up with!

TSOT Sketch 193

As soon as I looked at it my mind immediately went to the Perfect Blend stamp set, and to the Paper Piecing technique.

 A little detail

I must say, I really like how this turned out and I hope you do too.  ;-)
I will have the supply list up for you later today.

Happy Stamping,

Rev Up The Fun!

Hello Stamping Friends,
Today's card was inspired by Andrea Walford's card from my Blog Hop yesterday and the Paper Players latest sketch challenge.  This card came together fairly quickly with a little bit of stamping, die cutting with the Ovals Framelits and the newest "kid on the block" Thinlit Card Dies.  I love all of the expressions and little elements that come with the card dies.  SO much fun!  I thought this card turned out just perfect for a little boy and I have just the boy in mind for it.  :)  When his birthday comes around, he'll be Revin' Up The Fun!
Enjoy and happy stampin'!

Up In The Air Without You

Hello Stamping Friends!
Today's card is for my sister who lives in Idaho.  That's just too far from Oklahoma, in my opinion, so I thought I'd let her know how I was feeling today.  We've both been very busy lately and just haven't had lots of phone time together as we normally do.  I miss you, Deb!

To create today's card I chose to combine 3 different challenges.  Create With Connie and Mary for the color palette,  Addicted to CAS for the theme,  and Freshly made Sketches for the actual card sketch.  I'm very happy with my end result because it really does transport me to the lake where all the people fly their kites in the spring and summer and it also reminded me of one of my favorite movies:  "UP"  with all the colorful balloons.  I hope you enjoy it and gain some inspiration from all the great challenges out there in cyberspace this weekend!
happy stamping,

Botanical, Meet Modern

Hi Folks!
I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while.  I needed to get back to creating a little bit after a very busy 10 days or so.  All of that said, I found this simple sketch at Sketch Frenzy Friday that I wanted to try out.  So, here is the sketch:
And here is my card idea:
I'm calling it Botanical meets Modern.  I'm learning to mix and match different styles of paper and stamps to create something new and different for me.  I hope you enjoy.  Stamp and accessory list to follow tomorrow.

Quilted Friendship

Hello!  My latest card is a take on sketch challenge #130 over at The Paper Players.  It's a quick and easy card...it even has an easy going feel about it, I think.  Warm, like the quilt designer paper.  :)
I hope you enjoy the card today and try your hand at a sketch this week too.
happy stamping,
