Hello Stampin' Friends!

Just a short post for you today to show you my latest sketch challenge design for the Try Stampin' On Tuesday challenge blog.   It's a fun sketch that lends itself to Valentine's Day, but you know that you can always try a different shape or focal image instead of a heart.  I hope lots of you will go over to TSOT and submit a card design for this sketch.  It's lots of fun to play along and it's great for design practice.  ;)

My card today is pretty quick and easy.  I used the new designer paper stack from the Occasions catty called Stacked With Love.  There are so many cool patterns in this stack...just love it.  

I also used the Hearts Framelits, and I must say, they make my heart flutter just a little bit.  They are so much fun to use.  

This card is especially for my husband for Valentine's Day this year, so I wanted the design to be extra clean and simple.

The Essence Of Love, For Try Stampin' On Tuesday

Hello There, Stamping Friends!

Today's card is my first Vanentine'ish' card this year and I decided to use the lovely Stampin' Up! single stamp called Love Is Kindness.  When I first saw this stamp in the Occasions Catalog, I fell in love.  It was right up my alley and just my speed.  ;)  And, when I saw the sketch for the Try Stampin' On Tuesday  

sketch challenge, I reached for this perfect stamp.  

Here is the sketch for this week's challenge:

To create the diagonal panel on my card front, I cut 1/2" strips of dsp from the new paper pack called Stacked With Love.  It is so much fun to use!  Look at all of those graphic designs.  Love.  Love.  

I cut a second newspaper wrap and popped it up with dimensionals.  Have I told you lately that I'm in love with dimension? 

A white  Tea Lace Doily, a strip of Real Red 1/4" Cotton Ribbon, tulips colored with the Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities, and a sparkly touch of bling with the Something Borrowed embellishments, completed the head to toe "look" for me.  I hope you enjoy it as well.

Happy New Year!

Hello Stamping Friends,

     Well, it's been an incredibly busy holiday season over the past couple of months which has kept me from regularly posting here on the Quick and Easy Blog, but this is a new year and I'm back for what I hope will be more frequent posts.  ;) 

The card I'm sharing with you today was posted on the Try Stamping On Tuesday Blog last week, right before Christmas.  The theme was "friend" (I was thinking of every one of my wonderful friends as I made this card) and I think the sketch was meant to be a holiday card, but I guess that slipped right on past me because I used brand new products from the soon-to-be-released Occasions Catalog! 

 It's filled with super fun and pretty paper crafting goodies that you'll want to get your hands on, I promise.

This sketch was a real challenge for me this time and I'm so happy that I pressed on and found the inspiration to create my "friend" card.  I absolutely LOVE the color combo found in the upcoming designer paper, Birthday Bash.

Hopeful Butterflies for TSOT #197

Hello Stamping Friends,

It's good to be back at blogging after the 3 super busy weeks I've had.  Our board game convention (boardgamegeek.con) was so much fun, Thanksgiving was a feast, and my birthday season has been incredibly full of blessings.  

Today I am filled with joy for all of the blessings in my life with family and friends and it kinda just overflowed into my design for the sketch/joy challenge over at Try Stamping On Tuesday.  

These colorful butterflies exude joy for me; popping off of the black and white floral background.  They remind me of all of the diverse people who have flown though my life and made it so much richer than I could have ever imagined.  How grateful I am for the joy they have brought!

Snowbird for TSOT #195

Hello Stampers!

It's been cold and snowy down here in Oklahoma and perfect weather for creating a snow themed card for the Try Stamping On Tuesday Challenge Blog.  I loved the sketch for this week also.  

Lots of stamps came to mind, but the cardinal from Beauty Of The Season stamp won my heart!  

Here's my take on this great sketch:

As you can tell, it's not an every day card fold, but it is still an A2 size card.  I made the card base with the Envelope Punch Board and added coordinating layers of card stock, ending with a piece of Nordic Noel designer series paper.

 I colored my image with Cherry Cobbler, Mocha, and Daffodil Delight Blendabilities

 The snowflakes and sequins are from the Frosted Sequins embellishments.  I layered the snowflake atop the large sequin and then topped it off with a small rhinestone.  (Glue dots are my friend) Bling!

 To create my dazzling snowbird, I let my colored image dry well and then I pressed a Versamark pad all over the bird panel, covering it very well.  Then I grabbed my favorite embossing powder in the world, Irredescent Ice,

and sprinkled it over the whole panel and heat set it.  I LOVE this technique!

 

 And, of course to hold my envelope card together, I needed a cute belly band, and here it is.  Coordinating DSP is so handy and fun to use.  At your fingertips is a world of coordinated colors and patterns.  Love it!

Well, I hope this week's sketch and theme challenge inspire you to get into your stamping space this week and find your winter mojo!  Baby, it's cold outside...  Make the most of it!

Coffee and Friends for Try Stamping On Tuesday #193

Hello Stamping Friends!

Well, my first design team card for Try Stamping On Tuesday is finally here!  Whoo Hoo!  The sketch this week has lots of visual interest and can be interpreted in different ways, so I challenge you to try it this week and see what you come up with!
