Shimmer and Gold...What's Not To Love?

Good Saturday, Stampers!
A quick post for the weekend; Christmas, of course.  :)  I am finally finished planning all of the cards for my August Christmas card class and this was my final design.  Very, very quick and easy.  Brushed Gold card stock, Shimmery White card stock, Holiday Frame embossing folder (retired), Frosted Finishes embellishments, Joyful Christmas poinsettia heat embossed with a combination of Gold and Iridescent Ice embossing powders.  Hope you enjoy it and have a blessed weekend.

Afternoon Picnic SFF071913

Hello again!  Two posts in one day?  Yep, but this card is very quick and simple and based on this sketch  from the folks over at Sketch Frenzy Friday.  It's literally a 5 minute card that you can make for any holiday, bithday, get well, sympathy or thanks.  For my card I used Afternoon Picnic DSP, From My Heart sentiment, Wisteria Wonder, Basic Gray, and Very Vanilla cardstock, A couple of oval punches,  linen thread and Pear Pizzaz ink.  I hope you take 5 minutes out of your weekend and try it out!
 Have a creative weekend!

Christmas Wishes...

Hello Stampers,
You can tell I have Christmas on my brain, yes?  I have a Christmas card class coming up in a couple of weeks so I'm preparing.  ;)  Today's card is following a sketch from Mojo Monday #303.  I struggled with a little mojo tonight but pushed through until I found the exact elements I wanted on this card.  I hope you enjoy it.  Details to follow tomorrow.

Wishing You Christmas Cheer...Already!

Hello Stampers!
Today's card is sneak peek of Christmas!  I gained inspiration from two challenges yesterday.  First Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge and the ColourQ challenge #198.  It was really fun to try different elements to make this card work, and it finally came together for me.  I'd say it's a bit on the unconventional side.  (Can you tell I started watching the newest season of Project Runway last night?)  In any case, I hope you enjoy it!
*disclaimer:  not exactly quick, but still fairly easy.  :)

Friendship? Yes, Please.

Hello Stampers!
Wow!  Summer has been a bit of a whirlwind around these parts and as a result, not such consistent blog posts.....but I'm back with a new card today and I hope you all like it and find inspiration in it.  ;)
The Card base is Calypso Coral with a layer of Wild Wasabi.  The DSP is called Tea For Two and has retired.  There is a similar pattern in the current Stampin' Up! catalog called Afternoon Picnic, it just has a different color scheme.  The stamp set I used is called From My Heart and I stamped the friendship image twice; once in Early Espresso and once in Calypso Coral, cut them out and then layered them.  The layered butterfly element was achieved by punching an elegant butterfly and a bitty butterfly out of the same dsp pack.  A little distressing with Early Espresso ink and a few pretties like the basic pearls and  natural trim
and my card was finished.  I love this card because the detail in the dsp makes it look like it took me a long time to make, but actually it was very simple.  Let me know if you try this type of sketch this weekend.  I'd love to see what you come up with.  Happy stamping!
