Glory To The Newborn King!

 Hello Again, Stamping Friends!
You guessed it!  I'm on a holiday kick these days, and why not?  Stampin' Up! has a wonderful new holiday mini catalog out and it is jam packed full of holiday paper crafting and scrapbooking delights.  ;)
Today's card was based on this sketch challenge over at Paper Pal Arts.  Once again they (Nicole Watt) hit it out of the park! I used all new products for this Christmas card.  I've loved the All Is Calm designer paper and thought it a fitting backdrop to such an important sentiment, which is from a  The Newborn King stamp set.  With just a hint of royal "pop" the dazzling diamonds glimmer quietly makes it's appearance.   I challenge you to take a few minutes this weekend and play along with this sketch, and if you do, please share it with me!

Happy Stamping,
barb

Here is my card and envelope:
The envelope punch board provides the perfect finish to any card you make; a coordinated envelope!

The Details:
I use a mix of White and Iridescent Ice Embossing powders for the sentiment.

The Glimmer:
Stampin' Up! Basic Pearls and Glimmer paper always provide just the right amount of lux.

Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog Is LIVE and A Little Country Christmas

Hello Stamping Friends!
Good news for you today!  The Stampin' Up! new Holiday Mini Catalog  is live and orders are ready to be taken!  It's 95 degrees here in Oklahoma City, but even so, my mind is on the cooler temps of autumn and winter, and on the holidays these seasons bring.  I must tell you, I absolutely love this new country-ish designer paper in the holiday mini.  It's called Under The Tree and I'm obsessed with it!  It gives me such a warm feeling and reminds me of my simple childhood Christmases at home, with family all around our "Charilie Brown" tree. Such lovely memories.  :-)
On to the card details:  I created this card with this Sketch in mind from The Paper Players.  They have such fun challenges over on their blog.  I encourage you to visit them and try it out.  It's really great inspiration.  So, here is my card and the sketch.
Enjoy!

Wednesday's One Stop Blog Hop

Hello Stamping Friends!

I wanted to introduce a new weekly feature to the Quick and Easy Stamping Blog and that is:
Wednesday's One Stop Blog Hop.   As I have said before on my blog hop posts, there is such a wealth
of talent and inspiration in the paper crafting/carding making world that I want to share with you,
so I've decided to pick my top 5-7 Quick and Easy cards each week and post them here for your enjoyment.  I will always link the artist's blog address to their card so you can go visit if you choose.  I am learning so many finer points to good composition, color coordination and even editing from these fine crafters.  So, I hope you join me each week for this new feature on the blog, and enjoy all of the talent out in the blogosphere....and create a few cards of your own, too.  ;)

Happy Creating,

Give A Little Thanks

Hello Stamping Friends!
Wow, I feel like I haven't had time to stamp a card in a long time, but I finally found my mojo tonight and played along with the Try Stamping On Tuesday folks.  I've really been enjoying their challenges and I encourage you to hop over to their blog and play along.  ;) So, onto my card.  I'd been looking for the right sketch to try out the new stamp set, For All Things and the new DSP
Color Me Autumn, (both to be released this Thursday, Aug 28 in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog), and I found it today. Added a couple of finishing touches in the Hello Honey Satin Ribbon and the Cajun Craze Candy Dots.   I used all In-Colors on this card and love results.  Hope you do too!
Happy Stampin',

Friend Friday

Hello Stamping Friends,

This will be a really quick post today.  Several weeks ago, my friend Maggie came over to work on her Christmas card design for this year.  (Yes, she one of those very prepared people and most likely has her cards made and envelopes addressed already, which I love about her!)  So we were sitting at  my desk, looking through the new Holiday mini catalog, card samples, and older stamp sets trying to talk through all of the Christmas card possibilities, when I stumbled upon a sketch that she really liked.  She took this sketch:
and came up with this very elegant, very "mailable" card.
I love Maggie's, CAS (clean and simple) style....and such modern color choices, too.  Bravo, Maggie!  Thank you for being my wonderful friend and for allowing me to post your "wow" Christmas card for "Friend Friday!"

With the new Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog going live on Aug. 28, you too will be thinking holiday thoughts.  I know I am.  ;)

Happy Stamping,
barb
