Monochromatic Baby Boy for TSOT #225

Hello Stamping Friends,

I'm here today with a quick post for the latest sketch challenge over at Try Stampin'- Or Not- On Tuesday.  The sketch was really fun, but the theme was the challenge for me.  I don't make just a lot of baby cards, so I wanted to give it a go!

Happy Stampin' and Happy 4th of July!

Here is my card:

Something For Baby stamp set and Baby's First Framelits worked nicely together with Petite Pairs for this card.

Isn't that tie just adorable?   Framelits to the rescue!!
The card stock is Crumb Cake, the striped paper is the new envelope paper and the embellishments are candy dots and linen thread.

A Freshly Made Birthday: #191

Hello Stamping Friends,

Here today to bring you a freshly made birthday card for Freshly Made Sketches challenge #191.  I just loved this sketch idea created by designer,
Jen Timko.  It lends itself to quick and easy stampin' in my mind, but if you wanted to really go crazy, you could do that too!

I hope you enjoy it and gain some creative inspiration today.

Happy Stamping,
barb

"Rain" For Try Stampin' On Tuesday Blog #223

Hello Stamping Friends,

I know it's been a while since my last post, but it's been a busy season around the Hendrickson place.   I've missed a couple of Sunday Blog Hops too, which I plan to remedy next week, AND Stampin' Up! released a new annual catalog!  It's excellent, by the way.  I will update all of my links so you can properly shop, if you so desire.  ;)

The Try Stampin' On Tuesday blog that I design for posted a theme challenge for the next 2 weeks and it's "rain."  (All future challenges will run for 2 weeks to allow for more participation.  Come join in the fun!)

I had only 1 current stamp set that even hinted of the rain theme and a couple of other ladies had already used it, so I went rummaging through my retired stash.  (5 large boxes of rubber stamp sets!  Can you say "SALE?")

Well, I chose this sweet stamp set called Lean On Me that I absolutely loved, but had never inked while it was current.  But, it fit my challenge perfectly so I used it.  Everything else on my card is in the new Stampin' Up! catalog.

Onto my card for today...

Celebrate for TSOT #221 Color Challenge

Hello Stamping Friends,

Today's post is a rather masculine birthday card based on a color theme from Try Stampin' -Or Not- On Tuesday.  To be honest, this color combo freaked me out a little bit at first glance, and then I just let it roll around in my head for awhile and did some deep breathing LOL!   It's called a challenge for a reason, right?  :-)

My sketch inspiration was from this card:

I thought it was so cute that it made the top picks for my blog feature:  Sunday's One Stop, Blog Hop a few weeks ago.

Here is the color challenge for this week:

And here is my take on the scheme:

For me, it's a bold statement of color:  I used the new Cucumber Crush, Night Of Navy, and Daffodil Delight
with a few navy candy dots for a little visual interest, and to mimic the stamped dots in the background.

It's a very quick and easy card that could even translate into a neat personalized graduation card.  Just used the graduates school colors!

I hope you've enjoyed today's post and have a chance to try this color challenge this week.  Above all, take a deep breath and have fun!!

Happy Stampin'
